The Palm (DC)

four courses for $49.95.  not a bad offer for The Palm.  so of course we indulged.

for the main course we had:

Twin Broiled Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes – mango salsa and chipotle tarter sauce


Prime Top Sirloin Steak – 12 ounce – caramelized onions and wild mushrooms, served with a house made chimichurri steak sauce

with sides for the table.  loved it 100%, hands down.  The Palm never disappoints with their steak & seafood selections.

the most interesting was our choice of salad:

Apple and Arugula Salad – Danish blue cheese, crispy bacon, and toasted pecans, tossed in raspberry vinaigrette

as much as i wanted to love it .. ): i couldnt.  i dont think ive ever had arugula.  i dont think i was ready for the bitter.  and i definitely couldnt handle the salt of the bacon AND the blue cheese.  i picked over it at best, eating the apples and nibbling on the arugula.  instead, i much more enjoyed the conversation over cocktails while waiting for the main dish.

but i havent given up on arugula in general.  i love green leafy veggies.. so this weekend i picked some up from the grocery store.  i will be incorporating it into a salad of mixed greens.  let’s see if i like it any better.
